K-CYCLE and K-BOAT Expand Anti-Doping Measures to Promote Fairness and Rider Health

The General Headquarters for K-Cycle & K-Motorboat Racing, under the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, has announced that it will significantly expand its anti-doping testing for K-CYCLE and K-BOAT riders.

The number of doping tests administered to riders will increase by approximately 15.6% compared to the previous year. In particular, K-CYCLE testing conducted during competition periods will see a 37% year-on-year increase. To strengthen preventive and educational efforts, the headquarters will also collaborate closely with the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA) and regional K-Cycle racing organizations in Busan and Changwon, forming a joint working group to deliver both online and offline tailored education programs.

Additionally, the Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) process has been improved. This system, which allows riders to receive exemptions for prohibited substances when used for legitimate medical treatment, will now be handled through an online platform, significantly reducing processing time. Previously, TUE applications were processed only offline.

A representative from the General Headquarters stated, "We are continuously enhancing our anti-doping framework to ensure fair racing and protect our riders. We remain committed to building a fair and safe racing environment for all participants."
